Technical lecture

In the lecture virtual try-out by sheet metal forming simulation, state-of-the-art technologies are presented to solve the core problems of sheet metal forming, the precise digital prediction of feasibility, wrinkling and springback, as well as the automatic compensation of springback without the production of prototypes. The focus will be on when to use shell simulation to get a quick conclusion in a few minutes and when to use volume simulation to finally validate your parts. The presentation elaborates in detail the differences between shell and volume simulation and shows that both technologies are needed for successful virtual try-out.
